oep’s response to covid-19 closings
On behalf of all of us at OEP, thanks for your effort last week to make your classrooms a safe and consistent environment for students and ongoing work you are doing to provide care and learning opportunities. It is not an easy time to be a classroom teacher. Know that you are appreciated and we are thinking of you! Please reach out if there is anything OEP can do to support you and you prepare for the weeks ahead.
Events continue to evolve rapidly and change daily. We will update this post regularly as changes occur. (Updated March 26, 12:00p)
Online Videos & Teacher/Student Resources-You can now request resources from OEP. Videos are coming soon!
Energy Efficiency Program-We recognize for many of you, the 3-week extended break will impact your implementation of the energy efficiency program. Our goal is still for you send the efficiency kits home with your students this school year. However, we understand the April 15th survey deadline may be impossible for you to meet. We will be working with our utility partners to create a new plan. Online videos will soon be available for the lessons. If remote learning extends beyond April 6, we will revise the program requirements.
Careers in Energy-Following the CDC’s new recommendations to cancel all gatherings over 50 people for 8 weeks, the Careers in Energy programs are cancelled and will be rescheduled for Fall 2020.
Youth Energy Celebration-The Youth Energy Celebration on May 6th has been cancelled. If you would still like to submit a portfolio entry to NEED’s national contest, the deadline has been extended to April 30th.
Summer Professional Development-Registration for the Energy Tour & Blitz and grade-level professional development workshops will not open until we have more information.
DP&L/Vectren Scholarships–Online applications are now being accepted. The deadline has been extended to April 30th.
DP&L Energy Bike Program for Middle School Girls–Online applications are now being accepted for schools in their service territory, however the status of the program is not certain.
