Energy 101

Energy 101 is a professional development program for teachers designed to build confidence in energy science through lessons and training for specific grade levels. Each workshop includes the training, curriculum, and materials necessary to carry out energy lessons and activities in the classroom. Check out our workshop offerings below!

Grade 3

In this interactive workshop for educators, learn all about the different forms & sources of energy and the states of matter. This unit is integrated with ELA standards and includes nonfiction reading resources.

Grade 4

In this interactive workshop for educators, learn all about electricity, thermal energy, and climate science. This unit is integrated with ELA standards and includes nonfiction, fiction, and poetry reading resources.

Grade 5

In this interactive workshop for educators, learn all about light and sound energy.

Program Benefits

An interactive training workshop with OEP Staff covering all provided materials;
A grade-level specific energy science curriculum, including lesson plans, background information, and classroom labs and activities, all aligned to Ohio’s Learning Standards;
The lab equipment necessary to carry out the above mentioned curriculum;
Access to online resources with hands-on home activities that reinforce lessons and educate the whole family;
