At Ohio Energy Project, we know that the only pathway towards a sustainable future is through science. And the science tells us that energy efficiency and conservation are key to a happier and healthier tomorrow. Working toward that future, OEP offers multiple opportunities to engage in energy efficiency and conservation programming in the classroom. Check out the offerings below to ignite that spark of curiosity and change in your classroom!
Bring energy efficiency and conservation to life in your classroom with this dynamic program. In the classroom, students learn all about the fundamentals of energy, how it relates to our everyday life, and just why that matters not only to ourselves but also to the world around us. Through a series of labs and activities students will explore standards-aligned concepts, such as energy & matter, forms & sources, electricity, habitats & ecosystems, air/water/land pollution, climate change, and so much more! At home, students will work with their families, friends, and neighbors to implement energy efficient behaviors to take charge of their carbon footprint, sparking curiosity and leading their communities in energy conservation.

e3 Smart is a science-based, standards-designed study of all things energy–where it comes from, how we use it in our daily lives, and how our own behaviors can help us save both the planet and our pocketbook. OEP’s innovative school-to-home approach connects textbook science with real-world experiences for learners in grades 3-12. In the classroom, students learn all about energy science, efficiency principles, and conservation practices through hands-on labs and activities focused on how we use energy at home. Students, equipped with energy efficiency kits, then put their knowledge to the test, teaching their families, peers, and communities about the importance of energy and its efficient use.
